I have been photographing Jack since he was a newborn. For his 1st birthday, his parents gave him a Mickey Mouse themed party. Well, now a whole year later, Jack is still obsessed with Mickey. So, no party for this year. Instead, the will celebrate with the real Mickey and Friends!
They spent a couple nights in Anaheim. I made the drive the day of. I met the whole family (which also included the nanny Virginia) at their room at Grand Californian Hotel. They had amazing views of Paradise Pier at California Adventure theme park right from their window.
We began walking thru Downtown Disney bright and early at 9:30am. Jack was kind of thrilled, but I think he was excited to get out the room and hang out where all the fun was.
The gates finally opened and it was nothing but good times from there!
We were sad that Small World was closed, but we couldn't miss out on the beautiful background!
Enter Mickey's adventure...a chicken popped up. Surprise! haha
Oh Jack...he really was happy to be here...seriously!
See...he just needed a little motivation to smile.
All this fun warrants a nice, comfortable snooze for a moment in Frontierland.
Umm, hello...no Disney adventure is complete without a giant Mickey balloon! They're so awesome!
Family photo op. The Bigelows joined us this morning, too. We also spent some time at California Adventure, which was a blast for all of us "big kids."
We ended the night with dinner at Tortilla Jo's at Downtown Disney! This fun balloon guy came up to our table to make some balloon magic for Jack. He was really good! haha
And then...fireworks at the Castle! We stayed right at our dinner table and had an amazing view of the show! Jack was so mesmerized! What a magical ending to a fabulous birthday celebration!
